MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – On 7 February the CIS headquarters hosted a meeting of the CIS observation mission that will monitor the referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting participants discussed the mission's work during preparations for the referendum, the start of monitoring in the regions, accreditation of observers.
In the coming days the CIS long-term observers are to visit a number of regions and meet with members of election commissions of all levels. The CIS observers are also set to meet with senior officials of Belarus' government agencies responsible for handling complaints and applications related to the referendum.
