Chinese Embassy invites to choose Top 10 events in Belarus-China cooperation in 2025

MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) - The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus will traditionally select the Top 10 events that became most significant for the all-weather, comprehensive strategic partnership between Belarus and China in the past year, BelTA has learned.

“In 2025, under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Chinese-Belarusian relations made a new leap forward and are actively advancing across all avenues. To underscore the importance of cooperation between our states, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus is selecting the Top 10 Events in Chinese-Belarusian Relations in 2025, with results to be announced at the end of January,” the Chinese diplomatic mission explained.

The embassy will determine the top ten events from the proposed options in an online format.

The Chinese Embassy invites to choose the most important events of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation from the past year:

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Aleksandr Lukashenko on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Republic of Belarus (January).

Guards of honor of the People's Liberation Army of China took part in the 9 May military parade in Minsk dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people's Victory in the Great Patriotic War (May).

The 6th meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation was held under the chairmanship of Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov and Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC Liu Guozhong, giving new impetus to the development of business cooperation between Belarus and China (May).

The Tea for Harmony 2025 festival in Minsk showcased Chinese cultural traditions and folk customs to Belarusians, becoming a signature event in humanitarian exchange between Belarus and China (May).Belarus and China were among the 33 founding states of the International Organization for Mediation as they signed the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China (May).

Belarus, during China's SCO presidency, participated in the SCO Foreign Ministers' Council meeting, defense ministers' consultations, education ministers' meetings, and heads of science and technology ministries and agencies of SCO member states, strengthening Belarusian-Chinese cooperation within the SCO framework and contributing to SCO's further development (May, June, July).
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Chinese President Xi Jinping held meetings in Beijing and Tianjin, defining a new contour for bilateral relations development (June and August).

The National Football Stadium of the Republic of Belarus, built using China's technical and economic assistance, was officially inaugurated (June).

The cooperation committee between the legislative bodies of Belarus and China gathered for its second meeting which was co-chaired by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Qingwei, strengthening cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries (June).

Belarus launched, with financial support of China, a project to prevent and combat forest fires, which demonstrated the joint implementation with Belarus of China's Global Development Initiative (July).
At the invitation of Belarusian leader Aleksandr Lukashenko, about 100 Chinese schoolchildren vacationed at the National Children's Educational and Health Center Zubryonok (August).

The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus organized a photo exhibition in the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World War II (August).

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko jointly participated in the SCO summit in Tianjin and commemorative events in Beijing dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World War II (late August and early September).

Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, visited Belarus and held talks with Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi, after which the two sides reached consensus in terms of implementation of the agreements of the heads of the two states and strengthening bilateral cooperation (September).

The Years of Cooperation between Belarus and China in Science, Technology and Innovation 2024-2025 were successfully completed, during which more than 150 joint events were held.

Belarus participated in the 18th Pujiang Innovation Forum as a guest of honor, which elevated the level of scientific and technological innovation cooperation between Belarus and China (September).

The 2025 Chinese Goods and Services Exhibition was held at the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park, promoting trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and China (September).

The Chinese Embassy in Belarus and the public organization BelOD jointly held a series of student readings on the topic “Xi Jinping on State Governance”, deepening the Belarusian people's understanding of modern China.

The Belarusian-Chinese University Association held the third session in Minsk, giving new impetus to educational cooperation between the two countries (October).

Chinese films were screened as part of the 31st edition of the Listapad International Film Festival, contributing to further rapprochement of the peoples of the two countries (October).

Belarus presented its national exposition at the 8th China International Import Expo, which enjoyed great popularity among visitors (November).

The Industrial Cooperation Commission of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee had its first meeting, after which both sides announced the holding of the Years of Belarus-China Industrial Cooperation in 2026-2027 (November).
