Li Hui and Maksim Ryzhenkov
MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov held a meeting with Chinese Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui on 30 October. The Chinese official has come to Minsk to take part in the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Attending the meeting was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan.
The parties praised the high level and positive dynamics of Belarusian-Chinese relations, confirmed mutual support at international platforms, and exchanged views on the situation in the Eurasian region.
“Maksim Ryzhenkov emphasized the similar nature of crisis situations in the Eurasian space and the need to fight the root causes of conflicts, including by creating a strong and sustainable system of international security,” the press service said.
The minister and the special representative discussed the prospects for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, as well as the role that China and Belarus can play in it.
