MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Slovakia Andrei Dapkiunas met with Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Tibor Gašpar in Bratislava on 3 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
The conversation took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, which contributed to an open and productive dialogue. It was the first official meeting after the accreditation of the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Slovakia at the end of January.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of topics, including the resumption of the work of the interparliamentary friendship group and the prospects for bilateral parliamentary visits. Special attention was paid to the topic of preserving historical memory and countering attempts to rewrite history. Deputy chairman of the Slovak Parliament and the Belarusian ambassador also discussed preparations for the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in Europe.
Ambassador of Belarus to Slovakia concurrently Andrei Dapkiunas presented his credentials to the president of Slovakia on 29 January 2025.
