MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – Ways of developing Belarusian-Algerian cooperation were the focus of attention during a meeting between Sergei Aleinik, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic, and Saad Arous, head of the Algerian delegation, member of the Council of the Nation, in Islamabad on 12 November, BelTA has learned.
During the meeting Saad Arous emphasized that the Algerian side attaches great importance to the upcoming visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Algeria, which will contribute to the expansion and strengthening of the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.
The parties reaffirmed commitment to intensifying bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation and maintaining active interaction in international organizations.
The parliamentary negotiations took place on the sidelines of the first Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference (ISC) “Peace, Security and Development” in Islamabad that brought together representatives from 40 states, including Belarus.
