MOSCOW, 8 October (BelTA - TV BRICS) - The results of the International Olympiad on Financial Security have been announced in Krasnoyarsk. A total of 188 participants became winners and medallists of the intellectual competition. The news was reported by the portal sibnovosti.ru, a partner of TV BRICS.

Among those awarded were 27 Russian school pupils and 161 university students from Russia and abroad. The ceremony was accompanied by performances from creative ensembles.

Participants of the Olympiad admitted that the qualifying stage was the most challenging. Students from the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI”, who became medallists in the “Information Security” category, noted that their victory was not easy.

“The qualifying stage turned out to be very difficult, and not everyone managed to reach the final. We were lucky - sometimes fortune helped, sometimes our own effort. It is especially pleasing that, as far as I know, our university prepared the largest number of winners. It is a great honour,” they shared.

The results of the large-scale event were summarised by the Director of Rosfinmonitoring, Yury Chikhanchin.

“More than 1,100 people took part in the final week’s activities. [...] Over five days, more than 100 events were held across all four tracks – educational, professional, cultural, and moral, and sporting,” he noted.

The final stage of the Olympiad took place in Krasnoyarsk, hosted by the Siberian Federal University (SFU). Around 600 young people from 40 countries, including those from the CIS, BRICS, and SCO, participated. Over five days, the contestants took part not only in competitive challenges but also in educational training sessions, lectures, workshops and a rich cultural programme.

The International Olympiad on Financial Security has been held since 2021. Next year, it will once again take place in Krasnoyarsk.
