Minsk to host maiden #GBC telecommunications forum on 28-29 April

MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – The first edition of the international forum #GBC (Government. Business. Citizens) will be running in Minsk on 28-29 April, BelTA learned from the National Center for Electronic Cervices of Belarus.

“It will be a unique event in the field of telecommunications. The main goal of the forum is to showcase achievements and projects in the area of e-government and to find new ways of digitization and interaction between the government, business, and citizens with the help of information and communications technology. The #GBC forum is meant to become a platform for discussing the status, development, and prospects for Belarus' digital future as well as the transition of interactions at all levels to the digital format,” the center noted.

The goals of the forum are to present achievements in e-government and projects under the state program “Belarus' Digital Development for 2021-2025”, demonstrate the results of implemented projects and promising solutions of IT companies and communications and telecommunications organizations, encourage countries to cooperate in exchanging digital legal documents, promote e-government ideas, strengthen partnership and interdepartmental interaction, and improve people's IT literacy.

The international forum #GBC will comprise four sections dedicated to approaches to e-government development, introduction of biometric documents, the smart city concept, and digital services for business and citizens.

Taking part in the forum will be government authorities and organizations, IT companies, banks, representatives of international organizations and educational institutions. The forum will be a hybrid event, featuring offline and online activities.

The forum has been organized by the National Traffic Exchange Center and the National Center for Electronic Cervices of Belarus with the support of the Operations and Analysis Center under the Belarusian President.
