Krutoi: International agencies have to revise forecasts due to high economic growth in Belarus, Russia

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) — International agencies have to revise forecasts due to the high economic growth of Belarus and Russia, Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi said during a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State on 27 September, BelTA has learned.

"Economic growth in our countries is at 4.5% on average. This is above the world average. The bilateral trade has grown by 8.5% or by $2.5 billion. This shows that even amid the sanctions we have additional resources for deepening cooperation. All international institutions have to revise their assessments and forecasts regarding the prospects for the economies of both Belarus and Russia. In this situation, we must continue to work consistently, implement our plans, increase the number of cooperation projects and promptly remove barriers to mutual trade," Dmitry Krutoi said.
He also noted that 31 joint action plans for 2024-2026 form the foundation for further work. The action plans were approved in Moscow in June 2024.
"Today's meeting of the High-Level Group is remarkable because it is taking place in the run-up to the meetings of the main bodies of the Union State - the Council of Ministers and the Supreme State Council and the 25th anniversary of the Union State Treaty, which we will celebrate in December this year. We will discuss the draft agendas of these meetings. They should be packed, productive and landmark, considering the great anniversary. These meetings should set the trends of the Union State integration not just for the next 1 or 2 years, but possibly for 10 or 15 years. This is the task our leaders have set before us. From trade and economy, security to new conditions for equal rights of citizens of Belarus and Russia," Dmitry Krutoi emphasized.
