Contract to ship $40m worth of Belarusian goods signed in Istanbul

MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – The 15th session of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council is taking place on 16-17 April, the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Istanbul told BelTA.
The session was opened by Chairman of the International Affairs and National Security Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Sergei Aleinik and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Türkiye Anatoly Glaz, who are participating in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul.

Co-chairmen of the Council Pavel Marianenko and Fatih Işık as well as Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yelena Malinovskaya delivered welcoming remarks.
Businesspeople discussed opportunities for implementing a number of specific economic and investment projects in Belarus, industrial cooperation, certain problematic issues of doing business, and possible ways to resolve them. A schedule of business contacts for the near future was agreed upon.
During the event an investment agreement and a contract for the supply of Belarusian products worth a total of about $40 million were signed.

The council has been operating under the Foreign Economic Relations Board on of Türkiye (DEİK) since 1992. Its goal is to facilitate the development of relations between business circles of Belarus and Türkiye and to establish direct contacts between enterprises, companies, and organizations of the two countries.
