Call for increased focus on cooperation in light of new challenges

MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – In the light of new challenges, we need to pay more attention to cooperation, Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik said as he opened the Belarusian Industrial and Innovation Forum, BelTA has learned.

"This event is very important. The conditions our enterprises and businesses have to work are becoming more complicated. More new challenges arise, and it is very important to pay more attention to cooperation, search for new partners in order to pool together each other's capabilities and to promote our products in the markets of third countries. These events such like this one give us such opportunities," said Dmitry Kharitonchik.

"The forum is on rebound. We see positive dynamics, new developments and innovative products," said Sergei Shcherbakov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus. “For Belarus, innovative development is a priority. Since 2006 the country has been implementing state programs of innovative development. The fourth edition of such program was adopted on 15 September of this year."

According to the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation to Belarus Yuri Zolotarev, Russia and Belarus have been the closest trade and economic partners since the Soviet Union collapse. "Historically close production ties, relatively identical level of scientific and technological development, similar mentalities and regulatory frameworks, the absence of a language barrier in business communication determine a positive picture of our cooperation, including in industry. Our countries are not only the most active members of the Eurasian Economic Union, but have been on track towards industrial integration," he stressed.

"The Belarusian Innovation and Industrial Forum has been held since 1997. At the moment, it is a very attractive platform for Russian exhibits. Of all exhibition events that took place in Belarus this year, this forum has attracted the record high number of Russian participants. About 40 Russian economic entities are featured at the exhibition. There are also regional expositions of the Moscow, Volgograd, Novosibirsk and Orenburg regions and also that of St. Petersburg,” Yuri Zolotarev noted.

The Belarusian Industrial and Innovation Forum 2021 is running in Minsk on 28-30 September. The collective exposition of Russia's Volgograd Oblast is showcasing additive technologies and the production of cutting-edge 3D and 5D printers.
