Belarusian MTZ, Ganja Automobile Plant to sell joint products on third-country markets

MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) and Ganja Automobile Plant plan to promote deliveries of joint products to third-country markets, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the industrial group Ganja Automobile Plant Khanlar Fatiev during a visit to the Belarusian enterprise.

The presence of Ganja Automobile Plant and MTZ in the Azerbaijani market has lasted for more than 20 years. It began after the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Belarus when the two leaders decided to launch joint production. “Today our joint products account for about 80% of the tractor sales market in Azerbaijan and this is the best indicator of the reliability and quality of the vehicles. We continue working on expanding the model range: we plan to soon assemble in Ganja the new vehicles presented at the MTZ exhibition for the Azerbaijani market, which are especially in demand in the country’s restored territories,” noted Khanlar Fatiev.
Cooperation also extends beyond the two countries. Together with MTZ Ganja Automobile Plant intends to promote deliveries to third markets. “In particular, we are resuming the project for Türkiye, which had previously been suspended,” he said.

An international exhibition will be held in Azerbaijan in early May where the automobile plant together with MTZ will present modern agricultural technologies.
With particular interest the delegation from Azerbaijan visited the MTZ exhibition site where the latest products of Belarus’ other industrial leaders were presented alongside the flagship vehicles made by Minsk Tractor Works. The guests not only familiarized themselves with cutting-edge engineering solutions but also took a dive into the enterprise’s history by walking through the museum halls where the memory of the labor feat, the establishment, and the glorious traditions of the legendary plant is carefully preserved. The visit concluded with negotiations, during which the sides discussed specific steps to expand trade and economic ties, laying a solid foundation for new joint projects and further strengthening friendly partnership.
