MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has sent a 130-tonne hybrid haul truck for field trials, BelTA learned from the company’s press service.

The unique BelAZ-7513M truck with the carrying capacity of 130 tonnes has successfully completed all stages of manufacturer’s trials and will now confirm its declared performance characteristics as well as technical and economic indicators in practice by working at the BelAZ industrial site outside Mikashevichi.

According to the operational testing plan for 2025, the haul truck will be used in the village of Sitnitsa to deliver crushed stone and transport overburden. According to geological studies, granite reserves at the Sitnitsa deposit are covered by an 18-meter layer of overburden and a 12-meter layer of white clay. This is why BelAZ prototypes face a serious challenge here.

The hybrid BelAZ-7513M is fitted with a low-power engine and accumulator batteries that keep the vehicle running smoothly throughout the entire shift. The haul truck has an energy recovery system that redirects the energy from electrodynamic braking to the battery charging system. During braking the electric motor acts as a generator and feeds energy into the traction battery. When traveling downhill and when parked for loading and unloading operations, the haul truck replenishes energy in the battery.

Having demonstrated its performance and efficiency in real-world operation, the hybrid can expect to be included in the technological transport fleet of RUPP Granit at the existing Mikashevichi quarry.
