MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Vietnam intend to expand cooperation in agriculture, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

During a working visit of Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Deputy Minister Ivan Smilgin to Hanoi, he met with Vietnam's Agriculture and Rural Development Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien. The parties discussed the areas of cooperation between the two countries.

"Vietnam confirmed its readiness to approve veterinary certificates for Belarusian beef in the near future. This will significantly expand the export opportunities for our producers. Belarusian enterprises will promptly be added to Vietnam's list of approved importers, opening up new prospects for product delivery," the press service noted.

Vietnamese partners expressed interest in gaining market access for Belarusian poultry and pork in Vietnam.

Ivan Smilgin invited Phung Duc Tien to participate in the international exhibition Belagro 2025. He also proposed holding the next meeting of the joint working group on agriculture during the exhibition.

Ivan Smilgin stressed that this meeting represented another step toward strengthening the partnership between Belarus and Vietnam in agriculture. He also expressed confidence that joint efforts would enable the two countries to achieve new heights in their cooperation.
