Belarus receives $7.7bn of foreign investment in January-September

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – Foreign investors injected $7.7 billion into Belarus' real economic sector (banks not included) in January-September 2018, BelTA has learned from the National Statistics Committee.

The bulk of foreign investment came from Russia (36.3% of all inbound investment), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (25.3%), and Cyprus (8.4%). FDI was estimated at $6.1 billion, accounting for 79.9% of foreign investment.

Belarusian companies (banks not included) invested $4.6 billion in foreign countries in January-September. A great share of outbound investment was injected into economic entities of Russia (69.5% of all investment abroad), Ukraine (16.8%) and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (5.1%). FDI accounted for 94.4% of all outbound investment.
