Belarus mulls over dump truck assembly project in Kazakhstan

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarus plans to launch assembly production of heavy-duty dump trucks in Kazakhstan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov told journalists in Shymkent (Kazakhstan), where the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is holding its meeting on 26-27 March with the participation of Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, BelTA has learned.

“Our assembly facilities have been operating successfully in Kazakhstan. We assemble tractors at two enterprises here. About 4,000 machine kits are delivered annually. They sell well and are popular among farmers and agricultural producers across Kazakhstan. Gomselmash harvesters are in demand, as well as products from Bobruiskagromash, Lidselmash, Amkodor, and Mogilevliftmash’s elevator equipment. These successful projects must be further developed. We are working to expand the range of products assembled here. In particular, work is underway to organize the assembly of dump trucks, because they are genuinely needed here. Given Kazakhstan’s mineral resources, Belarusian heavy-duty machinery will be in demand,” Ambassador Aleksei Bogdanov said.

The diplomat noted that in recent years Belarus-Kazakhstan trade totaled around $1 billion. “In 2025, we achieved almost $1.4 billion in trade. Belarusian exports reached a historic milestone: over $1 billion,” he said. “Overall, we increased exports of Belarusian goods by 22%. January of this year confirmed the positive trend: exports went up 19% year-on-year. We hope that the strong momentum in mutual trade will continue. We need each other; we complement each other. Our competition is healthy.”
