MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) - Belarus has harvested 39.1% of haylage, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 12 June, first grass was cut on the area of 1,062,000 hectares (75.6%). All in all, 89.8% of grasses were harvested from the area of 954,300 hectares. Belarus harvested 77,100 tonnes of hay (11%), 5,207,000 tonnes of haylage (39.1%) and 199,400 tonnes of silage (0.97%). There are plans to harvest over 9.8 million tonnes of grass fodder this year; at the moment 15.7% of the plan has been harvested.
Perennial grasses were planted on 86% of the area.
