MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Iryna Shymanovich (world No. 184) will compete in the doubles semifinals of the 2026 Open de Rouen tournament in France, which has a prize fund of $283,000, BelTA has learned.
In the singles quarterfinals on 17 April, the Belarusian lost to Germany’s Tatjana Maria (world No. 63), 6-7 (5-7), 2-6. The match lasted 1 hour and 50 minutes. Iryna Shymanovich had made it to the main draw through qualifying. In the Round of 32, she defeated Czech Linda Fruhvirtová (world No. 143) in two sets, 6-3, 7-5, and in the second round she beat Hailey Baptiste of the USA (No. 35), 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. In the doubles semifinals, Iryna Shymanovich and Russian tennis player Maria Kozyreva will face the Czech pair of Jesika Malečková and Miriam Škoch.
In the doubles semifinals of the ATP Challenger tournament in Oeiras, Portugal, with a prize fund of $203,000, Belarus’ Ivan Liutarevich and Poland’s Filip Pieczonka were defeated in a three-setter by the Colombian-Uruguayan duo of Nicolás Barrientos and Ariel Behar, 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 8-10. In the final, the South Americans will face the Austrian-Indian pair of Neil Oberleitner and Sriram Balaji.
The tournaments in Portugal and France will conclude on 19 April.
