MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) - The traditional international swimming tournament for the prizes of two-time Olympic champion Sergei Koplyakov has kicked off in the Traktor swimming pool of the State Center for Aquatic Sports, BelTA has learned.
A total of 550 athletes under 21 years old from Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan are taking part in the short course competitions, vying for medals in three age categories. Today the morning program featured the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly finals. The afternoon program included 200m breaststroke and 400m freestyle events.
The Wednesday program will feature 400m medley, 200m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle events. On 29 November, the final day of the tournament, medal events will be held in the 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle, 200m butterfly and 200m medley.
