MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – Alena Furman of Belarus won the lightweight women’s single sculls at BRICS Games 2024 in Kazan, Russia on 14 June, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian finished the heat ten seconds ahead of her rivals. Russia’s Anastasiya Lebedeva and Natalya Guzhinova came in second and third respectively.
Earlier this year Alena Furman won gold at the European Rowing Championships in Hungary.
On 14 June the Belarusian rowing team won 5 (2-0-3) medals. Mikita Karneyeu claimed gold in the lightweight men’s single sculls. Viktoryia Vasilyeva finished third in the women’s single sculls. Veranika Anatsko, Palina Zalatarova collected bronze in the women’s double sculls. Siarhei Valadzko and Dzmitry Furman took bronze in the men’s double sculls.
