MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – The draw for the group stage of the 13th Futsal EURO final took place in Kaunas. The tournament will be hosted by Lithuania, Latvia, and Slovenia on 21 January-7 February 2026, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian national team was drawn into Group C alongside the teams of Slovenia, Spain, and Belgium. The matches will be held in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.
The other groups are as follows:
Group A (Riga): Latvia, Georgia, France, Croatia
Group B (Kaunas): Lithuania, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Armenia
Group D (Ljubljana): Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Italy
The group stage matches will be held in Kaunas, Riga, and Ljubljana. The group stage will conclude on 30 January, after which the top two teams from each quartet will advance to the playoffs. The quarterfinals are scheduled for 1-2 February, the semifinals for 5 February, and the medal games for 7 February. Starting from the semifinal stage, all games will be held in Ljubljana.
This is only the second time in its history that the Belarusian squad has qualified for the European championship. At the 2010 UEFA Futsal Championship in Hungary, Valery Dosko's team failed to advance to the playoffs, finishing behind the future champion Spain and the silver medalist Portugal.
Three years ago in the Netherlands, the Portuguese team won its second championship gold, defeating Russia 4-2 in the final. In the match for the bronze medals, Spain beat Ukraine 4-1. The Spanish national team has become European champion seven times, Italy and Portugal have two titles each, and Russia has one.
