Iranian embassy in Minsk opens condolence book for Ali Khamenei, victims of attacks

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belarus has opened a book of condolence to honor the memory of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei and those who fell in the attacks on Iranian territory, as well as to express sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims and those injured, BelTA has learned.

A poster displaying photographs of Ali Khamenei and one of the girls killed during the shelling of Tehran has been placed near the embassy building. Flowers are being laid here in memory of the Supreme Leader of Iran and the victims of the attacks on Iranian territory.

Sincere condolences on the martyrdom of Ali Khamenei were expressed on behalf of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs by First Deputy Minister Sergei Lukashevich. “An outstanding person has passed away: a wise statesman who selflessly served the Iranian people,” the message of condolence reads. “Ali Khamenei was a worthy son of his Islamic homeland and will remain in our hearts as a friend of Belarus who made an invaluable contribution to strengthening cooperation, friendship, and the development of relations.”

Representatives of the diplomatic corps of various countries and public organizations of Belarus also left their entries in the book of condolences.

On 4-6 March, from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., a book of condolence is opened at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Minsk at 11 Starovilensky Trakt.

As BelTA reported earlier, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent condolences to Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian over the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei. “It is with deep sorrow and grief that the Republic of Belarus received the tragic news of the death of the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Khamenei as a result of a treacherous attack,” the condolence message reads. “At this sad time on behalf of the Belarusian people and myself I send my sincere words of condolence and support. We share the pain of loss and express our solidarity with Iran at this difficult time.”
