MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The new supreme leader of Iran will be named within a week, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Belarus Alireza Sanei said during the press conference in Minsk on 4 March, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat noted that the situation in the country is currently under control, particularly regarding the operations of various organizations.
“Our enemies miscalculated when they thought our system would collapse after the assassination of the country’s leadership. Our system endures because it draws its strength from the people, and it will continue to advance. Should anything happen to the spiritual leader, an interim council assumes authority, just as it has now,” Alireza Sanei emphasized.
According to the ambassador, the Interim Leadership Council has already held meetings.
