MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarus does not infringe upon interests of Poland and the Baltic states and needs no advice about how to live its life either. State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Volfovich said: “Neither government – neither Poland’s, nor Lithuania’s, no Latvia’s – is eager to have a constructive dialogue, does not want to follow the standard international practice the world is accustomed to: get the ministries of foreign affairs to resolve the problems that exist between two states. We don’t infringe upon interests of Poland and of the Baltic states. We don’t dictate to them how they should live their lives. And we don’t want to be dictated to either.”
In his words, the state makes conclusions out of the military and political situation that evolves around the country and makes appropriate decisions. And the inspection of the Belarusian army was an evaluation of the Armed Forces’ readiness to accomplish its missions.
“People in uniform led by their commander-in-chief are getting ready to defend our national interests, our country at any minute. This is why this inspection is an evaluation of the preparedness of the Armed Forces primarily as the core of the military organization of the state to be ready to carry out the tasks they have in accordance with their mission,” the state secretary of the Security Council said.
