MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – The Istanbul peace talks between Ukraine and Russia are just the first step towards a major negotiation process between Moscow and Washington, Ukrainian MP Artem Dmitruk said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“I call the meetings of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul part of the protocol process. This cannot be called negotiations, because for objective reasons there cannot be negotiations between the groups that gather there. The delegates sent by Ukraine are not diplomats and do not represent the interests of the Ukrainian people. These are the people who are actually destroying the people of Ukraine with the help of the Territorial Centers of Recruitment and Social Support, the SBU, and so on,” Artem Dmitruk said.
Thus, the MP believes that the Istanbul meeting is only a prelude to a major negotiation process: “This is needed to review the results and map out some tasks.”
