Therapy of Miracles event held at traumatology and orthopedics center in Minsk

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) - The charitable event Therapy of Miracles for patients and staff of medical centers concluded in Minsk. Today, on the eve of the Old New Year, a special holiday program was presented at the National Research and Treatment Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics in Minsk, BelTA has reported.

The organizers of the project were the Belarusian news agency BelTA, the Belarusian Women's Union, and Mir radio station.
“Everyone wants warmth and care. When you are a patient, they are especially valuable,” noted Maria Yanskaya, First Deputy Director of the Mir TV and Radio Company Office in the Republic of Belarus. “The attention we give brightens everyday life and fills it with a festive atmosphere. The campaign was held in five national research and treatment centers and concludes today. Both children and adults participated. We made an effort to make the meeting a little fairytale for everyone.”
Director of the National Research and Treatment Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics Mikhail Gerasimenko noted that approximately 320 patients are currently undergoing treatment there. “The inpatient facility is full. The operating rooms are functioning around the clock, and full assistance is being provided,” he said. “Nevertheless, a holiday is a holiday for everyone, including patients. Therefore, we are very glad to host such an event.”

At the center, miracles happen every day. “It's a miracle when a person arrives in a wheelchair or using crutches, and after some time walks out on their own feet. Or recovers from spinal problems,” Mikhail Gerasimenko gave several examples.
The charitable campaign Therapy of Miracles aims to bring joy to patients undergoing treatment, as well as to doctors and nurses. Additionally, BelTA arranged the exhibition “Magic Lights of the New Year" featuring 28 black-and-white archival photographs dating from the 1950s to the 1990s, which capture the warmest childhood memories of the holiday.
