MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – The active phase of a Belarusian-Russian tactical exercise for reconnaissance units of airborne forces and special operations forces of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia continues in Ivanovo Oblast, Russia, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
On 8 September Belarusian and Russian scouts boarded An-2 aircraft to perform airborne insertion followed by reconnaissance in an unknown area and infiltration of the target zone.
Every unit had to walk on foot and travel on vehicles. They had to acquire coordinates of the most significant installations of the enemy, survey them, understand the security in place, and pass the information to the joint command post.
At the end of the day the scouts did a forced march to an area where they can recover and wait for further instructions.
In the exercise area Belarusian recon teams are accompanied by a Russian crew operating an unmanned aerial vehicle Orlan 10.
