VITEBSK, 14 July (BelTA) – The official opening ceremony, the Days of the Belarus-Russia Union State, the unveiling of a personalized walk of fame star near the Summer Amphitheater, a traditional weaving competition, a fest of majorettes will be the highlights of the 31st edition of the International Arts Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 14 July, BelTA learned from the directorate of the festival.
The first official day of the festival will be packed with events. The solemn opening ceremony of the festival will star Grigory Leps, Sergei Bezrukov, Taisiya Povaliy, Denis Maidanov, Anatoly Yarmolenko and the Syabry ensemble, Zara, Ruslan Alekhno. All in all, there will be more than fifty celebrity artists and bands.
A few hours prior to that, the international press center will open and a press conference will take place in the round hall of the Vitebsk Concert Hall. Talking to the press will be winner of the Grand Prix of the Vitebsk 2021 song contest Rukhiya Baidukenova, People's Artist of Belarus Anatoly Yarmolenko with the Syabry band. This year the Syabry band was honored with a special award of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko “Through Art to Peace and Understanding”. So the Walk of Fame near the Summer Amphitheater will welcome a new addition.
A plein air exhibition dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of national poets of Belarus Yakub Kolas and Yanka Kupala will open the Days of the Union State in the Vitebsk Center of Modern Art. The museum will host meetings, exhibition projects, open-air events and a discussion platform on 14-17 July.
A patriotic photo exhibition “Destinies Folded in Triangle” based on the joint project of BelTA and the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History will open on the Alley of Military Glory in Pobeditelei Park.
The International Children's Song Contest will continue with another challenge. On Day 2 the participants from 15 countries will perform a song of their choice.
“The Shades of Pakistan” exhibition featuring art and photography from Pakistan will open at the Museum of the History of Private Collectibles.
Russian actor Sergei Bezrukov will share his thoughts about life, theater and cinema with the audience in a frank monologue. A series of puppet performances will begin with a fairy tale of the Lyalka local puppet theater. In the evening, the Belgorod Puppet Theater will pick up the baton presenting the chronicle of the blockade “Leningrad Speaks”.
A street art fest will unfold on several venues at once. The artisan fair and the traditional weaving competition will open in Vitebsk downtown. The fifth edition of the international festival of drummers and majorettes will be held during the festival.
The 31st edition of the International Arts Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will be running till 18 July.
