MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) - First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov introduced new Director General Andrei Mokhor to the staff of the Belarusian Telegraph Agency BelTA on 10 April, BelTA has learned.

“Yesterday, the president of our country made a personnel decision to appoint Andrei Mokhor to the position of BelTA Director General. In this regard, I have the honor today to introduce to you your new director,” Vladimir Pertsov said. “He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University and completed retraining at the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus with a specialization in Public Administration and Ideology. Behind him is a great deal of experience in our journalistic workshop: he worked in the Belarusian radio system, and at Second National TV Channel he headed the news broadcasting directorate. Simply put, Andrei Mokhor understands news, headlines, planning, and personnel like no one else, as well as the speed and accuracy required for information released on the BelTA wire. You are the main chronicle of our country - first and authoritative. From your feed, the entire world, not just Belarus, learns about the events, the facts, everything happening here.”
Vladimir Pertsov expressed confidence that the new BelTA director general will fully apply his skills and approaches and share them with the BelTA team in order to elevate the agency’s work to a new, higher quality level in the face of information warfare. “The very information warfare that the president spoke about yesterday, which has hit you with full force, resulting in your channel being removed from the YouTube platform,” he added. “I wish you, under the leadership of a man from our own field, to do everything possible for BelTA to reach a new level, new heights, and preserve that high status as the main information agency and chronicler of our country.”Andrei Mokhor noted that he had been an active reader of BelTA. “On a daily basis, in real time, I followed, watched, drew information, and used it in my work. I see the enormous effort behind this seemingly simple news feed. I know that sometimes it is easier to build a team from scratch, but it is harder to join a team that is already working, where everyone is in their place. I am confident that there will be work to do. I have no doubt that we will be able to make a qualitative step forward to confirm the agency’s status as the oldest and most authoritative information agency in the country. I am very much looking forward to working with you,” he said.
Andrei Mokhor was born in 1977. He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University and the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus. He began his career in radio, later heading the information service of a popular FM radio station. He completed internships in the United States, Europe, China, and Russia. He joined the ONT TV channel in 2005, and from 2023 headed the channel’s news broadcasting directorate.
