MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) – The children's military and patriotic camp “Valor” opened at military unit No.3214 of the interior troops of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs on 9 July. The opening ceremony was attended by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, BelTA has learned.
“I am happy to welcome all children to the camp. What can be more important for our country than military and patriotic caps, when the youth uphold the fine traditions of independent Belarus?” Natalya Kochanova said. “You know that we believe that the youth are the future of our country. The youth policy is one of the priorities of the state policy, and the president always pays special attention to educating younger generations. We have recently marked a tragic date – the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War. We should not forget the feat of the generations that defended peace, freedom, and independence and restored our country from ruins. Today, you, the youth, should preserve peace and order in our land,” she added.
Natalya Kochanova thanked the Ministry of Internal Affairs for setting up military and patriotic camps. “Dear children, I would like to congratulate you on the opening of this camp. I wish you all the best, most importantly, to stay healthy. Please, love your wonderful Belarus as much as we do. We should do our best to preserve unity in our country. Learn, gain knowledge. Let honor, conscience, valor, and fairness guide you in life,” she stressed. “I would also like to thank parents who decided to send their kids to these camps. It is very important to raise your children as patriots and true citizens of their country. The country's authorities view this as one of the most important tasks. I am grateful to officers of the internal forces for finding time to work with children while performing their main tasks to ensure peace and order in our country. In the future, these children will join you and assist you in your work,” Natalya Kochanova noted.
According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander of the Internal Troops Major General Nikolai Karpenkov, three military and patriotic camps “Valor”, “Patriot”, and “Motherland” operate at military units No.3214, 5448, and 3310.
