MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – Minsk has a great potential and everyone needs to join efforts to achieve results, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said at a meeting to discuss the socio-economic development of Minsk in January-September 2022 that was held at the Minsk City Council, BelTA has learned.
“You should know the president's theses by heart regarding the current situation in the country, in the world. It was said that everyone should work hard and effectively,” said Natalya Kochanova.
According to her, there is no excuse for the failure to utilize budget funds. “This is a crime and those who do that should be held accountable. There are a number of tasks to be addressed in the city, for example, the construction of a new infectious diseases hospital, etc. People in charge should no way fail to deliver on these objectives,” she demanded.
Natalya Kochanova emphasized that the municipal administration is responsible for everything in the city, including enterprises reporting to the central government.
“Two most important objectives have to do with gross regional product and investments. Today Minsk has a great potential, labor resources, funds, and there is nothing that would impede the fulfillment of these tasks. We all need to work together to achieve results. People should be supported, but they must understand that they should work. Employment is also on the agenda. It is necessary to involve people who are unemployed. Timely payment of salaries is also our area concern,” she added.
