Grace International beauty pageant in Vitebsk to feature contestants from 9 countries

VITEBSK, 17 March (BelTA) – Students of universities of Vitebsk and Minsk from nine countries will compete for the prizes of the second edition of the open contest of national cultures, talent, and beauty Grace International. The final of the beauty pageant is scheduled for 18 March, Director General of the Vitebsk Culture Center Gleb Lapitsky told a press conference, BelTA has learned.

“We received applications from 18 students from Gorki, Mogilev, Minsk, Brest, Grodno, and Mozyr. During the first round, the jury of the pageant assessed the video presentations of the contestants. The second round was an online interview. Nine participants were shortlisted for the final,” Gleb Lapitsky said.

The program of this year's edition will be shorter and busier. Due to the pandemic, the final of the beauty pageant will run for only three days. During this time, girls from India, Sri Lanka, China, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Congo, South Africa, and Belarus will display their talents and attend classes in runway walk, posing, and floral design.

The final round of the contest consists of two events. During the first one, the contestants will cook a national dish. The final will wrap up in the Vitebsk Concert Hall. The finalists will show their talents, runway walk, including in national costumes, and deliver speeches to show the beauty of their native languages.

The organizers want to turn Grace International into a more large-scale event that would feature not only students. “Perhaps, the next edition of the competition will be held in the Summer Amphitheater on the sidelines of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk,” Gleb Lapitsky added.
