CSTO countries agree on Nelegal Operation plan

MOSCOW, 1 April (BelTA) - A plan for the CSTO regional operation Nelegal to combat illegal migration in 2021 has been agreed upon, CSTO spokesperson Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA following the meeting of the international headquarters of the CSTO regional operation Nelegal held via videoconference on 31 March. The meeting was chaired by Secretary of the CSTO Coordinating Council of the heads of the competent bodies of the CSTO member states on combating illegal migration, Chief of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Valentina Kazakova.

“Representatives of the national headquarters of the CSTO member states discussed in detail the concept of the operation under the code name Nelegal 2021 and agreed on the stages of active measures in the current year. In addition, the participants of the meeting also coordinated and agreed upon measures to coordinate interaction during the operation, defined the channels of communication and procedure of information exchange,” the spokesperson said.

It was decided to submit the agreed plan of Nelegal Operation 2021 to the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas and Chairperson of the Coordinating Council of the heads of the competent bodies of the CSTO member states on combating illegal migration, Russian First Deputy Minister of the Internal Affairs Alexander Gorovoy.
