MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Belavia has scheduled a flight to evacuate Belarusians in Oman for 4 March, the airline’s press service told BelTA.
Due to newly introduced airspace restrictions, the charter flight Minsk-Salalah diverted to an alternate airport in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The airline received notification of the restrictions when the aircraft with passengers on board was already approaching Salalah.
In agreement with the tour operator that ordered the flight, and in order to ensure the safety of citizens, the aircraft with tourists departed from Muscat back to Minsk. Tourists who remain in Salalah have been provided with accommodation and meals. The evacuation flight is planned for 4 March, the airline said.
Since several Middle Eastern countries have closed their airspace, Belavia has adjusted its flight schedule. On 1 March, the Minsk-Tel Aviv-Minsk flight was cancelled, and the flight plan to Dubai has also been changed.
