Belarusian Vityas donates household appliances, medical equipment to Vitebsk hospitals, labs

VITEBSK, 23 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian manufacturer of TVs, household appliances and medical equipment Vityas has joined the charity marathon to help healthcare professionals. On 23 April, the company donated the first batch of household and medical equipment to the healthcare institutions of Vitebsk, Director General Gennady Azarov told reporters, BelTA has learned.

Vityas joined the charity campaign this week. In just a few days, the company raised the amount needed to purchase 15 microwave ovens and 5 dry-air thermostats which maintain a stable temperature inside the working chamber necessary for bacteriological, microbiological, virological and biochemical research. The household appliances will be distributed among the city hospitals and the thermostats among the laboratories that conduct coronavirus tests. Three thermostats will be handed over to the laboratory of the infectious diseases hospital and one more to the laboratory of the regional hygiene center and the laboratory of the dermatology and cosmetology center each. They both have been working around the clock.

“The campaign has been eagerly supported by the staff. As we raise more funds we will purchase necessary medical equipment in agreement with the regional healthcare service. We also call on everyone to join our initiative. The products will be sold at their prime cost under the initiative,” said Gennady Azarov.

The most sincere words of gratitude to all the workers and management of the Vityas company were expressed by Deputy Head of the Main Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Nikolai Kaspirovich. “Many thanks to everyone who is doing their best to help medical workers to do their job, to create conditions for their comfortable work. Your support and care are valuable as never before. I would like to thank all people who provide any sponsorship today, donate money to charity accounts for hospitals. We are very grateful for your participation and the warmth of your hearts,” he said.

The Vitebsk Television Factory was founded in 1976. In 2010, the company was reorganized, with the state holding a 100% share in the statutory fund. Today, Vityas is a multi-field manufacturer, with 26 lines of business, including the production of television and household appliances, medical equipment, electric charging stations and other high-tech products. The company provides a wide range of production services. In 2019, the company posted a net profit. The production growth rate, according to the index of the physical volume, made up about 150%. The average salary rose by approximately 20%. The company employs about 1,000 professionals.
