MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian State Technological University has become a full member of the Technical Universities Association following the decision of the association's Council of 12 March 2021, BelTA learned from the university.
“Participation in the work of the Technical Universities Association will help the Belarusian State Technological University expand its international contacts and enhance its prestige in the international educational and scientific arena,” the university is convinced.
The Technical Universities Association was established in 1993 on the initiative of the leading technical universities of Russia on the basis of the technical universities section of the Eurasian Universities Association. It is a non-profit organization that is a voluntary and open association of technical universities. Its membership includes 147 universities and organizations of Russia and neighboring countries.
The founders of the association are Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University, St. Petersburg State Technical University, Tomsk Polytechnic University and Chelyabinsk State Technical University.
The priority areas of the association's activities include promotion of technical universities as centers of education, science, culture and innovation, increasing their role in solving specific problems of regional development; providing advanced training of engineering, technical and scientific personnel in accordance with the objectives of innovative economic development, labor market requirements based on the optimal combination of state procurement for personnel, regional interests; cooperation with employers, business structures in addressing issues of training specialists, development of new-generation professional standards, targeted training of specialists, personnel and scientific and technological forecasting, increasing the prestige of engineering education, scientific and engineering activity.
