The program for Belarus’ socio-economic development for 2026-2030 will be submitted for approval at the second session of the VII Belarusian People’s Congress. Delegate from Vitebsk Oblast, Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee Piotr Belus explained why this document is important and what priorities he considers to be key.
Piotr Belus noted that the draft program is not just a plan but a clear strategy based on the real needs of the people and the tasks set by the head of state. “It sets concrete goals and measurable indicators, provides implementation mechanisms such as state programs, and emphasizes scientific and technical support. Success depends on macro-economic stability, and the program lays the groundwork for it,” he said.
He stressed that the core idea is a self-sufficient state with people at the center. “Our goal is a new quality of life for every Belarusian, the development of digital infrastructure and breakthrough technologies. This five-year period of quality is our answer to the challenges of the time,” he added.
Achieving these goals, he said, requires joint efforts from the state, business and society. “The program’s seven priorities cover all key areas: from demography and human potential to technological development and strong regions. I am confident that such a comprehensive approach will move us forward,” Piotr Belus said.
