MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – Fashion model Maryna Linchuk from Minsk has landed on the cover of Vogue Japan's February 2016 issue, the website of the magazine reads. Photographed by Giampaolo Sgura for the American fashion brand Michael Kors, she made a sultry vision in the Warmth of the Desert Sun story.
Maryna Linchuk was born in Minsk on 4 September 1987. In an interview she confessed that she never really wanted to be a model. In childhood, like most children, she dreamed of becoming a doctor or a lawyer. Maryna's career in the fashion industry started when a friend asked her to accompany her to a casting at a modeling school. Maryna was accepted, her friend was not. At first she worked in Minsk but then decided to move to Moscow where she signed with the model agency IQ Models. Later on, the Agency sent the girl to work in Japan. Maryna Linchuk settled quickly in Tokyo, started speaking some Japanese and took the first steps to becoming a supermodel. From Japan Marina moved to New York.
An important event for the girl was a photo shoot by famous photographer Steven Meisel. After the photo shoot Maryna got noticed and received cooperation offers from such famous brands as Versace, Donna Karan, Christian Dior, Gap, Kenneth Cole, Escada, Dolce & Gabbana, Max Mara, DSquared2 and others.
Maryna Linchuk has worked for many fashion houses. The Belarusian model graced the covers of the Russian, Italian, Japanese, Turkish, German, Mexican, Spanish and Portuguese Vogue Magazine and posed for Harper's Bazaar, Numero, Glamour and ELLE. In 2008 she was the face of the Moon Sparkle fragrance from Escada. In 2009 Maryna Linchuk was invited for the advertisement shooting of the Miss Dior Cherie fragrance. In 2009 Vogue Paris named her one of Top 30 models of the 2000s alongside with Gisele Bundchen, Natalia Vodyanova, Lily Cole. In 2011 Maryna Linchuk was named model of the year by Glamour Russia. She also walked in the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 Victoria's Secrets Fashion Shows.
