MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – A meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church will take place in Belarus in 2018, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus said in an interview with ONT TV channel on 7 January, BelTA has learned.
Belarus expects a visit of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. “It is most likely to take place in mid October. Patriarch Kirill would like to hold a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church here,” Metropolitan Pavel said.
It is expected that Patriarch Kirill will come to Belarus with permanent and temporary members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
“It will be a very important event,” Metropolitan Pavel stressed.
