MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – The team representing the special rapid response unit of the interior troops of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry came in third at the international competition SWAT Challenge 2020 in Dubai, representatives of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry told BelTA.
The competition took place in Dubai, UAE on 9-13 February. It gathered 46 teams from 26 countries. The teams had to demonstrate their skills in a number of trials such as a hostage situation, an obstacle course, and the evacuation of injured personnel.
After five days of the competition the team representing the UAE police was named the winner. The team of the special operations center Vityaz of the National Guard of Russia took the silver prize. Another Belarusian team representing the riot police unit of the Minsk City Police Department came in 13th.
