MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) - Sergei Zaitsev, a student of the Mogilev lyceum at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, took part in the Dreams Come True contest, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The lyceum student sent a creative video message to the head of the ministry. He created the message using artificial intelligence and wished for a loyal four-legged friend. On 22 December, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov personally delivered a puppy to the lyceum student. On that day Sergei experienced a whirlwind of emotions as he held his new furry friend in his arms.
“I still can't believe this happened to me! I saw the announcement about the contest on our lyceum's Telegram account and filmed a video with my parents' help. Honestly, I didn't expect to win. Today, the minister of internal affairs himself presented me with this wonderful puppy! Guys, believe in yourselves, believe in your dream. Everything will definitely work out,” Sergei Zaitsev said.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, fulfilling such a sincere request from a child is part of a larger, heartwarming story about how the ministry helps children strengthen their faith in kindness and the fulfillment of dreams.
Thus, the meeting between Ivan Kubrakov and the students of the Mogilev lyceum at the Ministry of Internal Affairs was cheerful and artistic. The young people demonstrated their talents and presented the educational institution they to love, as it is where they have found true friends and become a close-knit team.
For the distinguished guests, the lyceum organized a theatrical fair featuring songs performed by the institution's own musical group Code of Honor.
The minister of internal affairs also toured the educational facility to verify that all necessary conditions are in place for the students.
The meeting concluded with a concert program centered around a New Year's fairy tale performed by the students and teachers. The minister thanked the children and their educators: ‘It's only the second time we are celebrating the New Year within the walls of the lyceum, but it is already evident how far its students have progressed and how the building has been transformed." Special words of gratitude were extended to the head of the educational institution, Valery Polishchuk.
New Year's gifts were presented to the lyceum students and also to the educational institution itself.
Ivan Kubrakov noted that everything is being done in Belarus to ensure no child is left without attention. “Today, as part of the Our Children campaign, we also visited our friends at the Mstislavl residential school. We come here not only during holidays. We always inquire about problems, figuring out how we can help. We have already renovated the sports hall, the gym, the dormitories, and other facilities,” he emphasized, stating that the Our Children campaign for the Ministry of Internal Affairs will not be limited to visiting just one educational institution. The ministry oversees more than 200 of them.
“First and foremost, we go where children need help. Special attention is given to schools and orphanages located far from the capital and major cities. We also remember the kids studying in departmental educational institutions and military-patriotic clubs, which bring together over 6,000 children. Today we are visiting the Mogilev lyceum at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and tomorrow we will visit the one in the capital, where we will bring holiday cheer to the children,” Ivan Kubrakov said.
He noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs also organizes events for the children of law enforcement officers. For instance, a New Year's show for their children will be held at the Palace of the Republic on 28 December.
On the night of 31 December - 1 January, law enforcement officers led by the minister will be working to ensure public order. "We will do everything possible to make our country the safest. Happy holidays! May all dreams come true,” Ivan Kubrakov said.
