MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko described the current situation in the world as ‘war' during the meeting to discuss Belarus' current foreign policy priorities on 20 July, BelTA has learned.
“We hold meetings to take stock of the performance of our diplomatic service system every 3 or 4 years. You understand that the background of today's meeting is unusual. The current situation in the world can be described with one succinct word – ‘war',” the Belarusian head of state pointed out.
Fortunately, this war has not turned into an armed conflict yet, he noted. “It is raging in offices, mass media, social networks, economy, and finances. The humanity does not have a universal means to stop it. Just like there is no universal means to stop coronavirus. It was one of the things that triggered a new wave of the crisis, aggravating all existing tensions in the world: protectionism, national egoism, arms race, revanchism, ethnic and religious conflicts,” the head of state said.
Being an open country, Belarus has experienced all consequences of the global crisis, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “It culminated in the election campaign and subsequent attempts to destabilize the society and overthrow the government. You know well how color blitzkriegs are masterminded and staged. They are impossible without foreign interference,” the president said.
