KAZAN, 23 October (BelTA) – The election campaign in the United States of America is terrible and stupid but Donald Trump is a better candidate out of the two. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement in an interview with the VGTRK journalist Olga Skabeyeva on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan, BelTA has learned.
The interviewer asked Aleksandr Lukashenko whether the Belarus president follows the U.S. election campaign and who he would back. “This is a terrible election. I understand absolutely nothing from our point of view. A terrible and stupid election,” the Belarusian leader stated. “I often say if it happened in Belarus or in Russia… Listen, none of the fools would be elected. Neither one nor the other. Terrible. That one is incompetent and this one talks nonsense… Well, why do you insult people? After all, she is a woman. On the whole, normal men don’t fight against women. Imagine if someone in Russia or Belarus called people names. He or she would push a huge number of people away.”
At the same time Aleksandr Lukashenko admitted that he is in favor of Donald Trump in the current circumstances. “I know what will happen if Harris stays. If Trump is elected… Well, I don’t think that anything particularly good will happen but I have some hope,” the head of state explained his attitude. “If a new person is elected, then something new may be implemented. At least he has promised a lot. This is why he may be held answerable for a lot. Only from this point of view. Not because I like Trump or his program. It is such nonsense… I don’t know how one staff and the other one could waste $1 billion. How did they miss that? They could have at least reined in or dropped hints. Although it is very difficult to rein in Donald Trump. You understand that.”
