Lukashenko points to escalating threats in close proximity to Belarusian borders

MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – The events and threats are escalating and taking shape in close proximity to the borders of Belarus, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during the final review of the comprehensive inspection of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus on 1 April, BelTA has learned.
“The scope of the tasks, the speed at which they are set and carried out.. All of this is dictated by the seriousness of the geopolitical situation, the escalating events and threats that are taking shape in close proximity to our borders. And not only to our borders,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.

The president noted that he is well acquainted with and regularly communicates with a fairly wide range of leaders from other countries. This, combined with many years of experience, gives him the perspective to assess the international situation and the developments unfolding around the world.

“I am a well-informed person. As you know, we are conducting negotiations with the Americans. And the experience I have gained throughout my life and work, including my military service, helps me draw the appropriate conclusions from the smiles, hugs, and pleasantries exchanged with the Americans, extending all the way to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. I am not even speaking of China and Russia. I have long-established relationships with the leadership of these countries, and not only with the leadership,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
