ASTANA, 13 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a series of meetings with foreign leaders on the sidelines of the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures (CICA) in Asia, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian president held bilateral meetings with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan discussed, in particular, the future meeting with the Chinese president.
Later it became known about a number of more conversations.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani talked about the monitoring and taking stock of the joint projects. Aleksandr Lukashenko invited the Emir of Qatar to visit Belarus.
Aleksandr Lukashenko had a brief talk with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov. The parties touched upon the situation in the region and the economic ties between the two countries.
Brief conversations on topical issues were held with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan
Simona Halperin, Deputy Director General, Head of Euro-Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, approached the Belarusian president to talk about the relations with Israel. Simona Halperin hails from St. Petersburg, knows Belarus well. Now she made the acquaintance with the Belarusian head in person.
