Security Councils of Belarus, Russia hold consultations in Minsk

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Minsk played host to the consultations of the Security Councils of Belarus and Russian on 29 June, BelTA has learned.

The consultations focused on the hybrid influences on Russia and Belarus, response to the attempts to interfere with the internal affairs of sovereign states.

There was an exchange of views on pressing issues of international security, including the Open Skies Treaty, the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention, and biological security.

The parties outlined the plans regarding further cooperation between the Security Councils, defense ministries, special services and law enforcement agencies of Russia and Belarus.

The participants of the consultations noted that they are mostly on the same page regarding the most important issues on the agenda and worked out joint steps to address them.

The consultations were hosted by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev and State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich and brought together representatives of ministries and agencies of the two countries.

On 29 June, Nikolai Patrushev also visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.
