Putin: Belarus-Russia integration agreements on presidents' radar

MOSCOW, 18 February (BelTA) – The progress in the implementation of the integration agreements is on the radar of the presidents of Belarus and Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the media after his meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Moscow on 18 February, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia and Belarus are good neighbors, close allies and strategic partners. The Russian president recalled that last year the countries approved 28 Union State programs to deepen integration. During the talks, the two leaders reviewed in detail the implementation of the previously approved decisions.

“In fact, these 28 programs are nothing but a continuation of our long-established areas of interaction and integration. The Belarusian president and I keep these agreements on our radar,” said Vladimir Putin.

According to the Russian president, Belarus and Russia have achieved significant results in the transport and logistics sector, and also credit and financial sector. In his words, in 2021 the trade between the countries increased by more than a third and amounted to $38.5 billion. Russia and Belarus will continue creating even more favorable conditions for doing business, the Russian head of state said.
