Hybrid warfare seen as threat to countries' independence, territorial integrity

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Hybrid warfare is no less dangerous than conventional warfare and is a threat to countries' independence and territorial integrity, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said as he met with State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich in Minsk on 29 June, BelTA has learned.

Conventional challenges and threats have not disappeared, new ones continue to emerge, Nikolai Patrushev pointed out. “It is great that we hold consultations to discuss such matters, including hybrid warfare. It is no less dangerous than conventional warfare,” he noted.

“Of course, hybrid warfare does not result in as many casualties, but it is a threat to countries' independence and territorial integrity. We should take all this into account as well as the dominance of Western countries in the media space and their attempts to force their values upon us. On our part, we support the traditional values and we will defend them,” Nikolai Patrushev believes.

“Today's consultations were fruitful and our security agencies will continue to cooperate,” he added.
