CSTO adopts statement on 75th anniversary of verdict of Nuremberg Trials

MOSCOW, 19 May (BelTA) - The foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states adopted a statement “On the 75th anniversary of the verdicts of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg” and called on the international community to step up efforts to disseminate the objective information about the crimes of Nazism, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas told the media following a meeting of the CSTO Foreign Ministers' Council in Dushanbe on 19 May, CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA.

“The document calls the preparation and conduct of the Nuremberg Process as a unique experience of professional cooperation of the international community,” Stanislav Zas said. “The countries, different in their social order, culture, traditions and historical destinies, got together to judge and sentence those who have unleashed the worst war in the history of mankind. The statement calls on the international community to respect and protect the legacy of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, to intensify efforts to disseminate the objective information about the crimes of Nazism in order to prevent the spread of neo-Nazi ideology, movements and organizations that may threaten the peaceful coexistence of peoples."
