MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) - Work on resuming operations of the U.S. embassy in Minsk continues, U.S. Special Envoy John Coale told the media following his meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 19 March, BelTA has learned.
It was previously stated that one of the issues on the bilateral negotiating agenda is the resumption of operations of the U.S. Embassy.
“We definitely talked about this at the meeting with President Lukashenko. Before we came here, we had a lot of consultations with the U.S. Department of State and other agencies involved. We are making progress on that front. I can’t give any specific dates. But the work continues, and both sides agree it’s a good thing,” the U.S. representative said.
