MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba and concurrently to Nicaragua Valery Baranovsky presented the copy of his credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Moncada Colindres in the format of a videoconference, BelTA learned from the Belarusian foreign mission.
The minister congratulated Valery Baranovsky on his appointment and expressed hope for joint active work in order to further strengthen the relations between Belarus and Nicaragua.
For his part, the Belarusian diplomat thanked Nicaragua for the support provided in international organizations and welcomed the intensification of work to develop the legal framework for bilateral cooperation. The head of the diplomatic mission reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to continuing the work on joint projects between Belarus and Nicaragua.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Nicaragua were established in May 1994. Honorary consuls of Belarus and Nicaragua were appointed in 2013. In accordance with the established practice, Belarus and Nicaragua appoint non-resident ambassadors. Valery Baranovsky was appointed Ambassador to Nicaragua in March 2022.
